Keesal, Young & Logan (KYL) is proud to once again partner with NAACP Long Beach Branch to present the 18th annual Law Day. KYL has sponsored the event since 2001. Law Day was created in the late 1950s by the American Bar Association to draw attention to both the principles and practice of law and justice. The purpose of the Long Beach Branch NAACP Law Day Program is to introduce students of color and underserved students from local middle, high school, and colleges to law as a career.
City Prosecutor Doug Haubert, who has been a participant and committee member for the project for more than 10 years, will present the keynote, exploring the theme, “Separation of Powers: Framework for Freedom.”
Judge Kelvin Filer and family members Anthony, Lance, and Kree Filer, who are also lawyers will be honored at Law Day.
Other members of the Long Beach legal community participating in the 8th annual Lay Day, include Long Beach City Attorney Charles Parkin, Deputy City Attorney Anne Lattime, Assistant City Prosecutor Randy Fudge, and Deputy Prosecutor Kay Watson.
