Eighteen men were named as honorees for Fathers and Men of the Year by Long Beach Branch NAACP members from adult branch, young council, and branch supporters. Skip Keesal was one of those men. “Watching your kids grow up to be good, kind and caring” flows deep in Skip’s heart, as do the many qualities which fulfill the NAACP’s standards for this nomination.
The criteria for nomination included support of the NAACP, community service, advocate of civil rights, diversity, and leadership. Honorees epitomize fatherhood, family, and mentorship. They also go beyond the call of duty to make our society inclusive and just for all persons.
